VIP 1: Turning Points For Children - Philadelphia

The team members of the Vision Impact Program 1 Philadelphia created Possibility, Abundance, and Love in the world.  We envision a world where children and families are embraced in love and abundantly supported.

Our vision was to stand in support of vulnerable children as we worked to assist families in raising safe, healthy, educated and strong children.   We were given just 30 days to envision the unimaginable, create the impossible and impact a community.

Our Objectives:

Make AN IMpact In Philadelphia, families of children and the children themselves, who are at risk or who have been subjected to abuse or neglect, are supported in addressing family challenges and achieving the goal of a healthy, safe and permanent home for each child.  We committed to provide support to increase awareness for the larger number of families living in poverty.  Working with Turning Points for Children we stood for the children and families together.   We empowered them to become leaders in building their families, creating bright futures for their children and come from a place of love.

Raise Funds We raised $42,352 for Turning Points for Children in just 1 month.   The donations we raised will provide assistance to the Parent Education Program, Timeout for Teens; addressing child abuse, and the Fathers Club.  We participated in the Dragon Boat Race on June 3, 2017.  Registration was $25 per person and a minimum of $500 needed to be secured in fundraising to participate.  There were 20 individuals who participated in this event for Turning Points for Children.   We secured 3 corporate sponsorships to help up in our efforts.  We created a legacy piece for Turning Points for Children that will be displayed in their facility.  These boards utilized old sneakers and paint where individuals were able to donate a footprint to CRUSH Child Abuse.

Spread Awareness Our vision was to raise awareness about Turning Points for Children’s mission, which is envisioning a thriving community for all.    We participated in the Dragon Boat race held on the Schuylkill River on June 3, 2017,  created a dine-out evening with Bertucci's restaurant who provided a percentage of their proceeds, created a community family centered event, coordinated a food donation drive to stock Turning Points for Children’s pantry and created our CRUSH boards across 2 countries and 4 states.  We also got TV news coverage by both Fox 29 and ABC News.
