VIP 1: Star House
Our vision was to bringing Christmas to homeless youth in our community. We provided a tree, decorations, a chorus, presents, celebration, food, supplies, and more to three events during the holiday season.
We, as Next Level Training leaders, were given just 30 days to envision the unimaginable, create the impossible and deliver the unobtainable. See the impact we made and join us in continuing these efforts.

Charity we supported:
Make AN IMpact
There are an estimated 47,500 children in Central Ohio that are homeless in some point in the year. Youth who are homeless or homeless in the holiday season never experience the joy that most people do during what should be the most wonderful time of the year. We decided because of that we would create a holiday celebration for homeless youth in Columbus, Ohio.
Together we raised $13,500 for Star House. There were 7,500 items donated that included deodorant, tampons, furniture, a washer and dryer, gift bags for youth and staff, bus passes, and gift cards. We create a Holiday Fest with home cooked food and gifts. There was also a 12 days of Christmas Food Delivery. The Star House was landscaped, cleaned, and decorated for the holidays.
We worked to ensure that homeless youth are not invisible. All donations were given to the homes youth. Requested items include toiletries, COTA daily, weekly and/or monthly bus passes, backpacks, sweatpants, hoodies, socks, underwear and more.
Star House provides youth experiencing homelessness with a safe respite from the streets and connects them to a chance for a productive life. We increased awareness for Star House through fundraising events, as well as highlighting the need for new volunteers. We hosted our the Star House Clean Up Day. Holiday Party, and The 12 Days of Christmas.
